This product is a modern take on the kuroame (candy made from brown sugar) carefully created in Okinawa by artisans at Eitaro Confectionery when it was first established so long ago. The company uses ingredients sourced in Japan, including brown sugar from Okinawa. With no added flavors or colors, the candy’s rich taste is a clear indication that these traditional artisanal skills are still very much alive today. The package design features an image of a towering solitary mountain.
