Seen through the transparent. plastic bottle, the surface of the soy sauce inside takes on the appearance of a black lacquerware bowl, with the design afforded a roundness at the top in line with this visual. We arrived at this design having concluded that the rounded blackness of a lacquerware bowl provided a perfect aesthetic for communicating the delicious flavor of soy sauce, an iconic ingredient in Japanese cuisine.
